Is it ok to use uppercase letters in an email address?

While most receiving email providers are fine with uppercase characters, some may not be.

The domain part of the email address (example.com) is not case-sensitive. So "ExaMple.com" is the same as "example.com". However the local-part of the email address is potentially case-sensitive, so "Bob" is different than "bob".
